Blue Winter Hues | Meet Aubrey - Fellow Jacksonville Blogger

Hi peeps! I hope everyone is having a great Holiday Season and with Christmas just right around the corner I'm sure everyone has been in panic mode trying to finish their shopping. As most of you have seen my last Instagram posts you've seen me with a fabulous friend! Her name is Aubrey of Hello Alley and I got to meet with her and shoot some fun outfits we worked on a few weeks ago! It's so nice meeting others in the same city as you, doing the same thing you are, and just so happens to have similar style and ideas (YUP that's rare)!

With it being Winter, not necessarily Winter temps in FL, we decided on one of our outfits to reflect Blue Winter Hues which turned out AMAZING! Even though we were dyingggg + sweating during the shoot it still turned out great:)

Aubrey and I were both able to incorporate a good friend of mine's jewelry, Tangled Jewelry! Her pieces are so versatile and easy to pair & they went so well with our blue hues. Shown below, White Druzzy Ring & Suede Wrap Necklace. I mean how awesome are they!?!

Btw..stay tuned for more about the owner of Tangled Jewelry- I'm going to be doing a Girl Boss segment on Jordan + how she started and got to where she's at now. It's so impressive and inspirational to see women being their own boss and doing it in style;)

I got to do a little Q & A with Aubrey for all of you to get to know her better!

What motivates you as a blogger?

What motivates me as a blogger is getting emails from readers or having people come up to me in person and say: “I loved this blog post!” “Thank you for helping me buy all of my Christmas gifts through your gift guide the other day!” or “I bought my graduation dress from your blog post last week!” Basically, knowing that I am helping readers out there and that they appreciate it in return makes me the happiest person and motivates me to keep going every single day. I love engaging with readers of Hello Alley so don’t be shy!

.  How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as one part classic and one part trendy! I love keeping my wardrobe very classic because it stays in style year after year, however throwing a trendy pair of shoes or a trendy bag into the mix keeps dressing up fun!

I try to do a lot all at once when I get the time. I am not blogging full time yet- I still have another full time day job, so I have to shoot my blog posts  and outfit pictures in bulk over the weekend so I have content for that next week. When I get home from work each night, I sit down on the couch with my laptop and start curating my posts for the rest of the week or work on some background business.

Can you name some of your favorite bloggers/style icons?

I have a few… Olivia Palermo is my number 1 style icon for sure! She represents the perfect combination of classic and trendy in her everyday outfits. Two ladies I would love to meet/ look up to in the blogging/fashion world would be Sazan Hendrix (beauty YouTuber and fashion blogger) Sazan is not afraid to be herself and I aspire to have that same confidence she has and Diane von Furstenberg. DVF is such an amazing woman and also creates a stunning collection every year. I would love to sit down and have lunch and maybe a cocktail or two with her ;)

What has been your greatest achievement with your blog since you started it?

As soon as I started my blog a little over a year ago I created a few goals for myself and my blog and every few months or so I would add to those goals as I saw myself growing. I have since then been able to check some of those accomplishments off of my list which is the coolest feeling in the world. I have new goals now going into my second year with Hello Alley and sometimes I do question if those dreams are too big, but I look back on what I have already accomplished and realize that it is completely attainable and that gives me the motivation I need to keep pressing forward and bettering my blog each and every day!

Now that you all got to read a little about Aubrey and got to know her a little better, go over to Hello Alley and give her a follow and check out all of her inspirational blog posts for life and fashion inspo! I always find it refreshing when I go to fellow bloggers sites and see what they're doing. It keeps ideas fresh in my mind and adds to current ones:)

The Perfect Look For A Date Night | Gals Night Out + Christmas Talk

I hope everyone had a good week! I sure am glad to have ended this past week so I can focus on some upcoming projects that I'm super excited about. Some nights when I'm going out with the fiancee or the girls for a night, finding the right outfit can be harder than normal because you don't want to be casual yet you don't want to be too dressy either, which can be a challenge. I try and focus on one or two pieces that make a statement. For example, a great pair of shoes and a fun jacket. When you pair the statement pieces with other basics it pops and gives you that dressy casual night out look! I wanted to share with you guys about my last Instagram post outfit details which would be perfect for a night out! I also wanted to talk about CHRISTMAS with y'all! With Christmas being right around the corner I'm going to put together a few ideas for some Christmas presents for family, friends, significant others, etc. If you're like me then you wait until the last minute to do your gift shopping. Not this year! I made a promise to myself that I would be done with ALL of my Christmas shopping by the first week of December so I can thoroughly enjoy all of the festivities and events going on during the month:) Leave some comments on any ideas you guys have or want me to share!

Outfit Details + Favorite Local Jax Boutiques

I hope everyone had a good Halloween this past Monday! We sat at the end of our driveway and handed out candy to all of the cute little trick or treaters! We saw so many cute outfits and little kids that night and couldn't resist but filling up their pumpkins with candy. Per request, I have attached all of the links for my outfit in my last Instagram post below.

In addition to that, I wanted to share with all of you locals a few of my favorite boutiques to shop here in Jacksonville, FL.
  1. Ashle Gryre: This awesome boutique is located in Atlantic Beach, FL and carry many of my favorite brands which doesn't happen often due to having to order a lot of my clothes online due to no one carrying that brand locally! Every time I visit this boutique the staff is always super sweet and the vibe of the store is completely chic and fun! Give them a visit:) http://ashlegryre.com
  2. Rosie True: Rosie True is a boutique I grew up shopping at since I was a young teenager. They have been in Jacksonville for quite some time now and there's a reason they're still around and have expanded to several stores in the area. They always stay up to date on the current trends and brands and, again, the atmosphere of their stores is very inviting and fun to visit and shop! http://www.rosietrue.com
  3. j. Ashley: Last but not least, j. Ashley's is another one of my favorites:) It is located in the historic Avondale area of Jacksonville and is surrounded by other fun restaurants and stores to visit after done shopping here! They carry timeless fashion brands and pieces and I can never leaver here empty handed. http://jashleyboutique.com

Give these boutiques a visit if you are from this area if you haven't already or if visiting, I promise you won't be disappointed:)

Transitioning Your Wardrobe : Fall 2016

Hi lovies! It is September 1st today, which means, Fall is going to be here before we know it (September 23rd). I don't know about you but I'm that one girl who likes to shop and dress for Fall WAY before it even gets here. This year my current top Fall pieces include: anything in the color 'Cayenne', suedes, leather booties, and destroyed denim. Suedes have had a big year this year. It's been incorporated into summer styles and are really big for this up and coming fall season. I've had a thing with shoes lately and I think I've found the perfect pair that fit with my fall obsessions: Matisse | Expo  and I'm sure you can guess which color I chose. These are suede and my spotlight color this season, so it doesn't get much better. Here in Florida, we don't start to get the cooler weather until about..December (and that's if we're lucky). That's why this pair is so perfect because they're able to be worn in the warmer days leading up and still have an autumnal feel. Another staple this season, or any season really, is black leather. I love black and feel it can be worn year round. I've recently discovered a brand, Loeffler Randall, that I love. It's quality pieces and they are always on top of the current season's trends. My newest purchase of this brand's are my go-tos this season, Gigi. I've got more styles and added pieces to come, so until then! Xx

My Office Makeover

Hi friends!
It has been a long couple of months of construction at my house, but I'm happy to say that my office is finally finished! This room started out with a dull grass green color on the walls and worn carpet on the floor. After a gallon of fresh white paint and boxes and boxes of dapple grey ceramic wood tile were applied, this room now has a whole new feel and I couldn't be any more obsessed! I think it's important for every woman to have her own space that she can go to think and work on whatever it may be she wants to work on, in private. Men have their "man cave" so I think it's only fair we, women, have our "woman cave". The rug is from Rugs USA and is the Safavieh Moroccan Shag Rug found here: Safavieh Morrocan Shag Rug. I love this rug, not only because it's a shag rug, but because of the use of the two materials used in the design. The black lines on the rug are a different material and length than the main white base of the rug, which gives the rug more depth and design, in my opinion, and has added so much to the look of this room. The bookcase was a steal I snagged at Target: 5 Shelf Bookcase. It's simplistic design and monochromatic colors were just what I needed in my office. I love it so much I'm thinking of adding a second one to the other side. And of coarse all of my other knick knacks I was able to find at HomeGoods. I don't think I've ever been able to walk out of there empty handed! This whole project has been very rewarding and it was awesome to see it all come together!
